HYDRODYNAMICS OF FLUID-BODY INTERACTION
Course Material Coming Soon!
This course covers a variety of topics in marine hydrodynamics and fluid-body interactions. This course provides an overview of fluid mechanics principles and their application to solving generic fluid-structure issues. This course is intended for advanced graduate students and seniors and will cover graduate-level material. The first half of the class covers generic marine hydrodynamics, in which we apply fundamental notions defining the motion of an incompressible fluid to gain an understanding of how specific processes occur and how natural and man-made structures may interact with these processes. The second half of the course will address fundamental concepts for dealing with the dynamic motion of floating bodies, including deriving the equation of motion and forces acting on a body in waves. Finally, I will explore some advanced topics, including flow-induced motions, motion instabilities and ice-wave-structure interactions.
ORE 677 MARINE RENEWABLE ENERGY
Course Material Coming Soon!
The primary goal of the course is to present the fundamental ideas of marine renewable energy. Each lecture starts from fundamentals and also features a number of real-world applications and ongoing industry advancements. This course is intended for graduate students and seniors and will cover mostly graduate-level material.
